Question of the Day!!

I often hear alot of people, both Christian and non-Chrisitian speak about the lottery and the casino. I have often seen churches take trips to casinos and boats that gamble. When asked if they think this is an approiate activity for churches to participate in, I'm  often given the answer, "Yes!" Then, when I speak with non-believers about paying tithes and offerings on the winnings of their lottery and casino earnings, I'm often told they don't believe they should pay.

Sooo my question is 1.) Should Chrisitans be participants in the lottery and Casino Gambling? 2.) Should you pay tithes and offerings from these earnings?

Social Media 

      Today seemed like a day that I never thought I would see. It's a Sunday morning and everyone in the congregation has an electronic in their hand. You hear the distinct sound of a muffled vibration in the air. Then all of a sudden you hear the Preacher yell out; " Now for all my Twitter, Facebook and Live stream folks, here's a Repost/Retweet for you straight from heaven!" As I look around and see phones and tablets go to their Facebook & Twitter Pages I am amazed.

       Stop!!!! Let's rewind 20 years prior to this church. The church that we know had ceiling fans, wooden benches and the closest thing to technology in the church was the heating & air system and the music corner. Now fast forward back to this new age church, how did we get here? What brought us to the point of Church joining in the convergence age of technology? Is this a good move for churches to join in the "Social Movement" bandwagon?

Let's try to answer some of these questions and get the foundation set. Then let's hear what you have to say.....

What is Convergence?

 A:  Convergence as defined in my Mass Comm. Class is the combining of distributions of messages in various media formats.

Do you believe that Churches can benefit from the use of Social Media Sites and the Internet for the forward progression of their Ministry?

Getting Back to the Basics

Ever since I was a little girl I was taught that,"We are made of Sugar and Spice and everything Nice!" I was told that we are to be a good home maker, a loving mother, a devoted community member and most of all a submissive wife to our husband. In these days and times we are seeing that our young women are loosing their respect, confidence and love for themselves. Over the past 6 years I have watched young ladies disrespect themselves more and lose out on great opportunities because of their in ability to be a "Lady First." So I pose this question, "How do we teach and help each other get back to the basics of being a Lady First?"
